Laboratories,
During our latest exploration of Deep City’s surviving blocks, we have confirmed a structural anomaly whose significance may exceed even our previous estimates regarding the city’s total collapse.
Ilghal reconstructions from before the event depict four megablocks suspended above the central abyss. For decades, we assumed urban activity was distributed across exterior platforms and visible levels.
We were wrong.
Survey operations conducted on the inner faces of the blocks have revealed repeated structures appearing in all four primary masses.
The geometry is unmistakable.
They are docks.
Access docks.
They do not connect to the exterior.
They connect to the interior.
The implication is unsettling: Deep City was not organized around the blocks.
Deep City was organized inside them.
The first image shows an Ilghal reconstruction of the city prior to the collapse. The inner surfaces of the blocks face the central void.
The second image documents one of the discoveries made during current exploration efforts. The illuminated structure corresponds to one of the access points identified. The visible patterns on its surface match others found throughout different sectors of the megastructure.
The third image details the architecture of these installations. All evidence points toward a standardized transit system linking the central void to protected urban environments located within each block.
If this interpretation is correct, we have explored only the outer skin of Deep City.
The real city may still be there.
Sealed.
Waiting.
And perhaps not entirely empty.
