Dear colleagues,
The auxiliary craft has begun the systematic mapping of Deep City’s second collapsed sector.
The initial measurements confirm that the geometric organization documented in Block B-01 appears once again. Even after centuries of collapse and structural deformation, the city’s architecture continues to follow a remarkably consistent design language.
During the survey, the craft approached an immense collapsed structure dominating this region of the cavern.
Its silhouette was immediately recognizable.
Its proportions and overall configuration closely resemble the gigantic ventilation systems that appeared in the earliest architectural reconstructions generated from the oldest recovered Ilghal fragments. Until now, those images had been regarded as theoretical models. For the first time, we possess physical evidence suggesting that such structures actually existed.
We cannot yet determine whether this is one of those ventilation systems or a different type of infrastructure built according to the same engineering principles.
The auxiliary craft will continue its close inspection of the structure before extending the mapping operation across the remainder of the block.
If this growing correspondence between the Ilghal fragments and the surviving architecture continues, our reconstructions will cease to be archaeological hypotheses and become the first verifiable structural map of Deep City.
Each sector we explore narrows the distance between the city described by the Ilghal fragments…
…and the city that still lies hidden beneath the ruins of the world.
