Reconstructing Deep City
The EX306pA-QW Expedition begins a virtual reconstruction of Deep City using survey data and recovered Ilghal fragments.
Expedition EX306pA-QW has completed the survey of Deep City’s accessible structures. Following the exploration of the Fourth Block and the region designated as the Underworld, I have ordered the auxiliary craft to return to the mothership so the next phase of the mission can begin.
Our objective is no longer limited to documenting the ruins.
Using the millions of measurements collected during the expedition, the structural models generated from the survey, and the Ilghal fragments recovered throughout the city, the Eurasian laboratories will begin a virtual reconstruction of Deep City as it existed before its collapse.
The process will employ the Structural Reconstruction Protocol (Blender 3D v. ∞) to integrate cartographic data, geometry, construction patterns, and archaeotechnical evidence into a single coherent model. Comparing the reconstructed city with its present condition will allow us to identify altered structures, lost access points, and anomalies that cannot be recognized through direct observation alone.
The first simulations already suggest that many structures now lying in ruins originally served functions very different from what their present appearance implies. Each reconstruction is reshaping our understanding of the city.
We will not attempt to enter the interior of the Fourth Block until this model has been completed.
Entering now would mean interpreting ruins without understanding the context in which they were built. Reconstructing the original city first will greatly increase our chances of understanding what truly happened during the final days of Deep City.
